I once saw a butterfly

I once saw a butterfly
that flew swiftly and smoothly
that thought losses were successes
and was caring and motherly

I once saw a butterfly
that didn't care how it looked
And kept laughing
even when it soaked!

I once saw a butterfly
who kept joking around
soaring up with its wings,
it never looked down!

I once saw a butterfly
that displayed
an array of colors
that flew way ahead,
of all the other mothers.

I once saw a butterfly
that was as unique as can be
then it came down,
and tightly embraced me.

This poem I dedicate to my amma (mother) whose birthday was yesterday (June 27th 2013)
