My Family Through The Looking Door

My Family Through The Looking Door

My family is a jigsaw puzzle,
the best there can be.
There’s mom, dad,
sister and me.

My mom, she cooks.
She hears, she looks.
Cut, cut, cut, the knife moves swiftly.
Soon the tomato becomes pieces of fifty.

My dad, he’s next and doing the dishes.
He usually grants all of our wishes.
The plates lay gleaming on the kitchen rack.
Dad orders us to go and hit the sack.

My sister Laya is totally weird.
Tomatoes are on her face, completely smeared.
I scream, she shouts.
I sulk, she pouts.

CRASH! Goes the plates.
THUD! Goes the knife.
Quick as a cat
moves Laya to save her life.

“Hey!” Yells mom.
“What?” Yells dad.
Laya smiles at me and says,
“you’re in trouble so so bad.”

My family is a jigsaw puzzle,
but definitely the best.
There’s no doubt that
they’re better than the rest.
