DOLL

In the bright Summer sun
A girl came to be
She was a gift
From guess who? Right. Me

I gave her to her mother
Who had been wishing for one
Which is why I gave her
Because one is better than none

The mother was a sweet, kind woman
She never used to betray
Those who never granted her wishes
She just kept her faith, everyday

So this woman deserved a child
Because she was like that
Which is why she was kind to me
After all, I am a cat

The child had hazel like eyes
But I wonder why she wasn’t blinking
I felt content though
Because finally, she was thinking

That how lucky she is
To have a cat like me
And this is how
This child came to be

NOTE: This is a poem told from a cat’s point of view
The child is supposed to be a doll
And the mother is the girl who owns the cat and the doll

The concept is excellent- I love that it's told from a cat's POV. However, I don't think I would have realized the full premise of the poem had it not been for your clarification. The whole idea has insane potential though, and I'd love to see you explore the feline perspective further.
