Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum
Yellow as a honey
I bet if I sold you
I could make a lot of money!

Then I would be rich
And the king will give me
A reward for
My Chrysanthemum as yellow as honey

The wind then started to blow
And my Chrysanthemum as yellow as honey
flew from my hand
Oh No! My money! My money!

Oh all that money
That I could have got
Disappeared
All because of that Chrysanthemum that I bought

Well?
I guess I could make do
I’ll just get another Chrysanthemum!
But wind, this time, it is not for you

This, I must say is my favorite of the two- it is somewhat humorous as well. A suggestion- you should try non-rhyming poetry. You'll find that it opens several avenues.

Also, if you really like rhyming poetry, you should try Shel Silverstein. His works are mostly of a humorous nature, but he has some poems in a more serious vein that I think you'll enjoy immensely.

Nicely done, Mayukha!! Ttry other forms of poetry too - a Haiku, Acrostic etc. It'll open up your thinking.
