Neena was new to school. She was a 1st grader at Canyon Elementary School. Her teacher was a tall friendly woman. Her name was Ms Sahana. Neena was so excited to be in Big people school. She made lots of friends but she was still sad. Neena was very friendly kid who didn't like lunch time. Each time lunch came she would not want to leave her classroom. Her teacher once asked what the matter was.
Neena quietly muffled her experience with a boy. Her teacher was still not sure about the problem. Neena then explained "There is a boy name Malcolm who pushes me around. He orders me to do things for him and punches my backpack too. He is always making fun of me in front of my friends." Ms Sahana asked "Neena: Do you know what a bully is?" Neena looked confused because she didn't understand the meaning of "bully". Then the teacher said a bully is a person who bosses people and asks them to do things for them. Neena understood but still didn't know how to avoid him. Ms Sahana told Neena that the first step was to learn how to say "No". If they still do things to you that make you unhappy or uncomfortable tell the teacher. Ms Sahana asked "Do these actions make you cry or feel sad?" "Yes" said Neena. Then Ms Sahana explained "There are may kinds of bullies around the world. Some are really tough and can be mean, some just do it for fun". Bullies also have feelings and they are not really bad people said Ms Sahana.
After learning how to avoid bullies Neena became Bully Avoider Superstar!
